How to implement design and protection measures for directly buried insulated pipes

Direct-buried insulation pipes are used in liquid and gas transmission networks, chemical pipeline insulation projects, petroleum, chemical industry, centralized heating networks, central air conditioning ventilation pipes, municipal engineering, etc. Direct-buried insulation pipes are a kind of insulation pipe with good insulation performance and low engineering cost.
The design and protection measures for corrosion prevention of direct-buried insulation pipes are as follows:
1. According to actual cases, the corrosion resistance level of direct-buried insulation pipes should be determined according to the local soil corrosion level. When the corrosion level of the soil is high, the corrosion resistance level should be considered extra strong; when the corrosion level of the soil is medium, the corrosion resistance level should be considered strong; when the corrosion level of the soil is low, the corrosion resistance level should be considered ordinary. Therefore, the corrosion level of the soil in the pipeline laying section must be clarified during design to optimize the corrosion resistance level.
2. Cathodic protection of direct-buried insulation pipes is a kind of electrochemical protection method in metal corrosion prevention technology. Different from other direct-buried insulation pipe corrosion prevention technologies, it prevents corrosion fundamentally by applying current to the protected metal body, shifting the electrode potential of the protected metal body negatively, and making the metal lose its tendency to spontaneously change from atomic state to ionic state.
However, this process must be carried out in an electrolyte, so underground steel pipelines are very suitable for cathodic protection. Cathodic protection complements the anti-corrosion layer of the direct-buried insulation pipe itself. The existence of the anti-corrosion layer can greatly reduce the current consumed by cathodic protection, while cathodic protection can compensate for the integrity of the anti-corrosion layer.
