Continuous Casting Flux This refers to the slag discharged during the continuous casting process in a steel plant without any processing. It is also called steel continuous casting slag, usually a mixture of various sulfur and carbon compounds. It also contains a small amount of molten steel and impurities, mainly composed of carbon, sulfur, iron, oxygen, and other elements.

The hazards of continuous casting slag are mainly threefold: First, it is harmful to the environment because it contains a large number of toxic substances, such as sulfur and iron oxide, which may lead to soil and water pollution. Second, the composition of continuous casting slag may affect the quality of steel; therefore, pollution from continuous casting slag may lead to poor steel quality. Pollution from continuous casting slag will also affect the sustainable development of the steel industry because it impacts the environment.

There are many methods for treating continuous casting slag, mainly including: First, heat treatment, which can decompose toxic substances such as sulfur and iron oxide in the continuous casting slag, thereby reducing its environmental pollution. Second, cold treatment, which can separate harmful substances in the continuous casting slag, thereby reducing pollution. Third, magnetic separation, which can separate harmful substances in the continuous casting slag, preventing environmental pollution.

It is a new type of processing technology that can effectively protect the appearance of castings, giving them good corrosion resistance and wear resistance. Continuous casting slag has the following advantages:

First, it has good corrosion resistance. A high-density structure can be formed under high temperature and pressure, effectively preventing oxidation reactions and improving the corrosion resistance of castings.

Second, continuous casting slag has good wear resistance. It can effectively resist external scratches and wear, making the surface of the casting smoother, more wear-resistant, and less prone to corrosion.

In addition, continuous casting slag also has a certain degree of bonding. It can bond with the substrate, making it stronger and improving the substrate's corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

The processing technology of continuous casting slag is simple, does not require complex equipment, and can be automated, improving production efficiency and reducing labor costs.

In summary, continuous casting slag has the advantages of good corrosion resistance, wear resistance, bonding properties, and simple processing technology. It can effectively improve the appearance of castings and enhance their performance.
